FLORIDA FAIR NEWS ………..………..……………………………………….. Osceola County Fair Entertained “Something For Everyone!” February 10-19, 2012
The 2012 Osceola County Fair kicked off with a very well attended Opening Cele- bration held in the KVLS Pavilion on Opening Day, February
10th.The event was coordinated with the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, who assisted with the ribbon cutting ceremony. St. Cloud and Kissimmee Chamber mem- bers were invited guests along with our Fair sponsors. The Midway Food Ven- dors provided samplings of their delicious food which was enjoyed by all! Even though our 2012 attendance was down by 11% from 2011 this was our second best year for Fair attendance, as
well as the carnival. On opening day, Friday, February 10th we began our 10 day Fair hosting a spectacular Demolition Derby, attended by crowds of
1,100 plus. The Demolition was such a success we hope to see them back again in 2013! This exciting show was only $5.00 per per- son in addition to General Fair Admission. Additional Entertainment Acts for the 2012 Fair included the Slack-wire Sam Show, World Renowned Ventriloquist, Comedian and Singer Sylvia Fletcher, Eudora Farms Exotic Petting Zoo, Nojoe’s Clown Circus, Master of the Chainsaw Brian Ruth and much more.
Strates Shows Midway featured over 80 rides, games and shows. The new Sky Flyer swing ride was one of the three new rides to debut at the Fair. Traditional Fair favorites such as the Pie Eating contest, Baby Show, Children’s Pet Show and Tractor Pull returned by popular de- mand. Art and Craft Exhibits by local residents and 4-H members, Livestock Shows and Sales, took place for Fair goers enjoyment.
