Palgrave, Ontario - Cale- don Equestrian Park in Pal- grave, Ontario, was the first sport venue to be named for the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan Ameri- can Games in a special groundbreaking ceremony held May 18. TO2015, the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games Organiz- ing Committee, the Gov- ernment of Canada, the Province of Ontario and the Town of Caledon joined together to announce Caledon Eques- trian Park as the official venue for equestrian sport, while also unveiling plans for facility improvements and community legacy. I am sure many of these young riders will remember gathering together on the hill for this momentous announcement, and possibly start dreaming of one day standing on the podium to claim a medal for our country.”

Candele of Caledon, ON, and 2008 Olympic Team Silver medalist Jill Hensel- wood participated in the on-site announcement. “After years of prepa- ration and planning, we are
honoured not only to have Caledon Equestrian Park named as the official host of equestrian sport for the 2015 Pan/Parapan Ameri- can Games, but to also be selected as the very first

Mike Gallagher, Pres- ident of Equine Canada, echoed those sentiments, recognizing the impact hosting the Pan/Parapan American Games will have on equestrian sport both locally and nationwide. “This investment ensures that Caledon Equestrian Park will pro- vide an accessible public legacy for the region to develop and train elite ath- letes and recreational riders

World Class Event Horse VDL Ulando H Dies In Tragic Trailer Roll Over
By Kelly Bowers
Tragedy struck Pol- lard’s Eventing team of Dalton, Georgia on Fri. May 25th. At about 7 am, as their truck and horse trailer made it’s way down Hwy $225, a vehicle pulled out from a stop sign right in front of them, causing the trailer to roll into the ditch and onto it’s left side. Driver, Natalie Hummel and passenger, Alison Wal- laby, both Pollard grooms had driven only five miles after leaving the Pollard training center on their way to a routine vet visit in Kentucky with six mem- bers of Michael and Nathalie Pollard’s eventing team. Thankfully Natalie and Alison were not hurt but “It just felt like some- body picked up the trailer and just threw us on our side,” recalls Wallaby.
