Canadians Earns Personal Best Results at CCI 4* Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event


Ottawa, ON— Canadians Peter Barry and Jessica Hampf finished in 11th and 19th place respectively in the 2012 edition of the CCI 4* Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, held April 26–29, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, USA.


Barry, of Dunham, QC, sat in 40th place fol- lowing dressage with a score of 60.3 riding his own Kilrodan Abbott, 13- year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding. The pair complet- ed Derek Di Grazia’s chal- lenging cross country course with one of the best performances of the day incurring just 3.2 time penalties which moved them up the leaderboard into 14th place. Barry and Kilrodan Abbott added one rail, for four penalties, to their score to finish with a score of 67.5 which was good for 11th place over- all.


“This was my second time at Rolex so every- thing was more relaxed, and I enjoyed the experi- ence more,” said Barry, who horse, Kilrodan Abbott had the second fastest recovery time of all the entries following cross country. “My horse was more confident this year and it was a great course for him. Riding High Society III, 16-year- old Australian Thorough- bred gelding owned by the rider and Carl Hampf, were in 55th spot follow- ing dressage with 70.2. The pair added 23.2 time penalties on cross country and 8 jumping penalties to finish in 19th place with a score of 101.4.

Divine Diva winner of the $10,000 LIFEFORCE Modified Grand Prix

[Caledon, ONTARIO] – LIFEFORCE powered by Alltech, the official supple- ment of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, sponsored the $10,000 Modified Grand Prix this Saturday at Caledon Equestrian Park. For the first show weekend of the year, Caledon was almost at capacity, with approximately 850 horses. With about 200 people in attendance to watch the $10,000 LIFE- FORCE Modified Grand Prix, Michelle Vandal riding Divine Diva won the class after a jump off. Second place was award- ed to Sean Jobin riding horse Vivaldi, and third to Roberto Teran riding horse Den- ver. The top ten riders in the class each received a LIFEFORCE prize package, equipped with sample product to help enhance the horse’s performance through a natural nutritional supplement.


Following the $10,000 LIFEFORCE Modified Grand Prix, LIFEFORCE held a reception in the pavilion at Caledon. Food, drinks and prizes were given away to celebrate a successful show as well as launch the Saddle Up with LIFEFORCE contest, partnering with Schleese saddles to give away a saddle worth $3,500 plus. “We were very excited and happy to be on site to kick off show season at Cale- don, I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and getting to know the exception- al talent Caledon attracts,” says Cindy Schickedanz, LIFEFORCE sales repre- sentative. The LIFEFORCE team will be at Caledon all summer as well as sponsor- ing two more classes, the Equestrian Fes- tival Modified Grand Prix on July 28th, and a class at the Canadian Show Jump- ing Tournament on September 22nd.


The Encore Presentation Trick Riders are saddled up and ready for another action packed season of trick riding, trick roping and showman- ship. The team has once again partnered up with the Ram Rodeo Tour with a full summer of rodeo dates to entertain at again this year. Members have been attending clinics and have some new and exciting trick roping to show off. The team has grown in size thanks to a few new members, each bringing their own special talent to the team. Along with practicing very hard off season, the team has recently participated in filming two television productions. They did a behind the scenes video for the local cable com- pany and more recently were in Collingwood, ON filming with the Ram Rodeo group.


The team has both junior and senior divi- sions, based on age. New this year, the junior members will be doing a few shows of their own. They are booked for Dresden Fair the Weekend of July 28 to do some drills and roping and to ride in the parade. They are also tentatively booked for the Weekend of Watford Corn Fest. (More details to follow). Head coach, Margie Love has recently been joined by Denise Sampson in the


position of juniors drill coach. Both divisions of the team are working hard, progressing well and becoming a team worth watching for. As for the seniors, keep an eye on the Ram Rodeo Tour schedule to see where you can see them perform all season long.


The team has acquired two new sponsors this season. Along with long time sponsor, Fid- dicks Quarter Horses of Petrolia, ON, they are now also sponsored by PF Equine of Watford, ON and Solar Eyes Photography of London, ON. A special thank you to their sponsors from the girls who state they couldn’t perform without their support.


The team is holding a fundraising draw for a Billy Cook Roping saddle, generously donated by PF Equine. Tickets are available until the draw on August 14th and can be purchased at Pf Equine or from team members.
