Hello Members:


Spring Thaw, our first show of the year was a HUGE success. Big hello to our new friends the Dugas who stopped in on their way home from Florida to the East Coast and stopped to run with us! Another big hello and long time no see goes out to Luc Menard! It was great to see you and catch up. We had 176 horses compete, and our Saturday Open 4-D class had 130 horses run. We had our Slot barrel race and it was great fun. It is always a great class, with everyone cheering and shouting for each horse. Congratulations to Jessica Tyner on her win..and myself for winning her for $25 in the calcutta! Our green as grass class was well attended with many new riders giving the NBHA a try. Our peewee class was big also. Results for this show will be posted further down in this article. You can check on the website for up to date information also.


District 1 had their first show of the season at the Rock N Rodeo in Harrow on the Victoria Day long weekend. It was an amazing show that Gerard and Christine Bernauer put on. It was a first time show, and the ground was fabulous. The rodeo had lots of excitement as usual! It was well attended, as were the concerts on Friday and Sunday. The Dean Brody concert on the Sat- urday evening was packed! The displays, the vendors, the hot air balloon rides, and of course the museum were busy all weekend. The jackpot on Sunday had 88 horses run, so in total I would have to say there were well over 100 horses showing!


action. Kudos to you Gerard and Christine for the fabulous show. Via Trailers show was again a well attended, well run show. We had 99 in the Open 4-D on Saturday, and unfortunately we were rained out after the poles on Sunday. The pen had some new footing added earlier this year and it was great. Thanks goes out to our host Judy Viaenne for the job well done again. District 2 has had two shows, one at Pinerae and one at the Dundalk show grounds. Both shows had great turnout. Pin- erae had over 40 and Dundalk had over 50! This shows that the Green as Grass that was started last year in this district really is help- ing to bring in new members, allowing them to compete and build their confidence in a class that is geared towards new riders and new NBHA members. Both those results will be posted here also.


Our next big show is our Canada Day show, and there has been a change of venue!! We are going back to Fletcher's Horse World in Ancaster. With the new parking areas, and some more added stalls, we should have a wonderful time again.


Don't forget to get practicing your foot race skills, we will be having that along with our coffee and snacks get together on the Sat- urday evening. Last year was very entertain- ing. We will have the entry forms listed soon.
