PARD Therapeutic Rid- ing Votes in Junior Board Members In 2011, PARD Therapeutic Riding voted in Emilie Raaymakers and Sarah Magee-Graham as its first ever Junior Board Members. PARD Thera- peutic riding is located south east of Peterborough in Keene. The program is run completely by volun- teers, from the instructors to the board members. As part of the Board, Emilie and Sarah are enti- tled to a vote in everything the organization does with the exception of financial issues. They already know what it takes to keep the program going during the riding season, but are now learning more and partici- pating in what it takes in

the off season.
Emilie and Sarah have shown a great interest and dedication to the pro- gram and its riders over the last couple of years, and deserve the Board positions they have obtained. They work and interact well with all the riders whether it is a young child, teenager, or adult. They lead by example in all areas including safety around the animals and respect for everyone involved. The girls work one on one with our inde- pendent riders with groom- ing and assisting them to prepare for Showmanship on the Line classes in local area schooling shows. Emilie and Sarah always show up with a smile and a great attitude,
and whether they are asked to muck the riding ring, clean tack, or exercise a horse the smile is always there! Both girls aspire to be certified as a CanTRA Therapeutic Instructor. Sarah started riding with a summer camp at the age of 8. She is now 15 years old and has been tak- ing lessons for the past 4 years. Sarah has competed in local schooling shows, and last year showed at a Trillium show. Sarah has volunteered at PARD for the last 4 years and instant- ly fell in love with the pro- gram horses. So much so that she adopted one of them when he retired. Sarah continues with her riding aspirations and is branching into the world of eventing and cross

value of $1,000.
At the prestigious CCI 4* Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, held April 26–29, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, Kilrodan Abbott, a 13- year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding, and Peter Barry of Dunham, QC, sat in 40th place following dressage with a score of 60.3.
Completing Derek Di Grazia’s challenging cross country course with one of the best performances of the day, incurring just 3.2 time penalties, moved the talented horse and his rider up the leaderboard into 14th place.
Adding one rail, for four penalties, to their score following jumping, the pair finished with a score of 67.5 which was good for 11th place overall. “Riding at Rolex was a thrill for both of us,” said Barry who has owned Kil- rodan Abbott, known as Eddie in the stable, since 2008. “Eddie cantered in a nice relaxed rhythm around
