The Vitec Group’s Joop Janssen has joined live, near-live and studio TV pro-


duction systems manufacturer EVS as chief executive. Prior to working at Vitec, Janssen was vice-president and general manager of Phillips Broadcast North America. Chairman of EVS’s board of


directors Pierre Rion said the company would benefit from Janssen’s experience of managing companies in a range of cultures, and his “deep knowledge” of the broadcast industry. Janssen said: “EVS is a very


strong global brand in the expanding high-quality digital video production market. Based on close customer engagement, excellent service, world-first innovations and robust tech- nologies, it is poised for further attractive growth.”


MATT DANILOWICZ VITEC VIDEOCOM


The Vitec Group has appointed Matt Danilowicz to the role of chief executive of its Vitec


Videocom division, replacing Joop Janssen (see above), who had held the role since 2003. Danilowicz was chief executive


of Clear-Com for five years until 2010. At the beginning of 2012, he returned to Bexel, the US- based rental company. Bexel is being merged with Vitec Video- com and Danilowicz has the task of aligning the two organisations.

Janssen has driven growth and market share for the Vitec Video- com brands,” said Vitec Group chief executive Stephen Bird. “We thank him for his many achievements and wish him well as his career progresses. “Matt Danilowicz is one of the


most accomplished managers in our industry, which is why we worked so hard to bring him back into the Vitec Group to head Bexel. He is the natural choice to take Vitec Videocom on to the next level.”


RENOS LOUKA TNP BROADCAST TNP Broadcast has appointed Renos Louka as new business development manager. Louka pre- viously held the position of man- aging director of Arri GB, where he worked for 28 years. He left the manufacturer in May last year. TNP broadcast managing


director Howard Rose said: “His industry background and the wealth of knowledge and experi- ence he will bring to the company will serve to add value to TNP Broadcast, helping to bring in new business, both UK and international, as well as develop new product ideas.”


DAVID MANNION NEWSFLARE Former ITV News editor in chief David Mannion has taken on the role of non-


executive director of online video start-up Newsflare, which allows the public to sell video clips to broadcasters and news organisa- tions via a smartphone app.
