Blackmagic Design has supplied Atem Television Studio, HyperDeck Studio Pro and SmartView Duo for what is described as the world’s smallest HD broadcasting vehicle. The three-wheeled moped is used by Kiban International for internet stream- ing from hard-to-reach locations. It offers switching, monitoring and SSD recording functions. The trike offers multi-camera production and broadcast encoding for internet streaming in a single rack unit.


●TAIWAN SET EXTENDS HARMONIC SYSTEM


Nationwide cable TV network SanLih E-Television (SET) has extended its Harmonic media storage and processing infrastructure as part of its transition to a tapeless production and playout work- flow. The broadcaster’s file-based produc- tion system includes Spectrum media servers, Omneon MediaGrid shared stor- age, Media Application Server (MAS) asset management and ProMedia Carbon transcoders.


EVS SUPPLIES BEIJING TV OB TRUCK ● CHINA


EVS has equipped Beijing TV’s new 3D OB unit with XT3 servers and IPDirector and XFile software. The OB truck will pri- marily be used for sports production and is equipped with 10 HD cameras, includ- ing two Sony 3D cameras and two super- slow-motion cameras. Six of the cameras can be combined to create three 3D cam- eras, while EVS’s XT3 servers can be con- figured to support HD production and simultaneous 2D and 3D production.

Foxtel is expanding its deployment of Pilat Media’s Integrated Broadcast Manage- ment System (IBMS) with the addition of IBMS Rights. IBMS Rights will provide Foxtel with a tool for managing the rights of any piece of content to be delivered to multiple platforms and devices. The sys- tem will allow acquisitions and finance personnel to centrally manage consump- tion and distribution rights for all acquired or self-produced content.
