EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION FESTIVAL


WHAT IS IT? Described by organ- isers as “the annual event for everyone working in television”, the festival is expected to attract 2,000 delegates. Those attending can choose between 60 sessions on programme- making, including keynote lectures, preview screenings, masterclasses, interviews and networking parties. WHERE IS IT? WHAT IS IT? Last year’s event attracted just over 10,000 trade visitors from 82 countries, and that figure is set to soar by more than 8,000 this year. The event is held at the same time as the Singapore-based IT and communications convention, CommunicAsia. Combined, the two events pulled in more than 53,000 attendees and 2,000 exhibitors last year. Speakers at the 2011 show included Microsoft Media and Entertainment world- wide director Jake Winett, Grass Valley vice-president and chief technology officer Ray Baldock, and 3ality founder Steve Schklair.
