your ears—all thoughts, beliefs, and stories—is unreal, yet you, as a conscious being, are still very much here. The shift always results in a profound feeling of inner peace and wellbeing. Right action then flows naturally. Jim teaches a simple, powerful practice which helps facilitate the shift. You use it whenever you experience conflict, upset, or struggle. It starts with wel- coming whatever you are feeling because it is showing you where you are not yet free. Then you notice the stories around the emotions and see how they, like the suffering, come and go, but you are still present. You are right here, now. Learn how to:

This work is experiential, involving dialogue and processes designed to uncover and free our- selves from the stories that keep us bound. Lee will lead us in daily meditation and chi gong.

Weekend of September 14–16

Presence: Living the Heart of Connection Maggie Phillips & Noelle Poncelet

The stress of our hectic lives, as well as effects of past trauma, can rob us of the rich experience of full presence. Join us for a replenishing week- end focused on exploring the heart of connec- tion with yourself and others. You will be shown how the quality of connection changes and repairs your brain; how to forge a “sole mate” relationship with yourself through radical self- acceptance practice; how to change injury into acceptance through true forgiveness; and how to befriend pain and fear to support forward move- ment that is guided by wisdom and aliveness.

Additionally, we will practice:

• Transforming suffering that arises from loneliness, loss, and overwhelm due to “over caring” for others

• Cultivating states of mindfulness and softer, spacious self-awareness

• Avoiding “thinking barriers” that arise from analysis and avoidance

• Learning to strengthen bonds that sustain us in our inner and outer communities

Experiential exercises will help us to tap the unlimited resources of the bioenergy system, the generative creative mind, the restorative “deep self,” and collective spirituality and intelli- gence. This course is suitable for mental health practitioners.

Maggie Phillips has created an online multi-media self-healing program. She teaches uses of Energy Psychology with stress-based difficulties. As a member of the Somatic Experiencing international faculty, Maggie specializes in methods that release trauma and relieve emotional and physical pain.

Noelle Poncelet is a psychologist and trainer in hypnotherapy in the US and Europe. She is also on the international faculty of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.

Science Set Free: Dispelling Dogmas and Opening New Frontiers

Many scientists like to think that science already understands the nature of reality, in principle. The fundamental questions are answered, leav- ing only the details to be filled in. The impres- sive achievements of science seemed to support this confident attitude. But recent research has revealed unexpected problems at the heart of physics, cosmology, biology, medicine, and psy- chology. Rupert Sheldrake shows how the sci- ences are being constricted by assumptions that have hardened into dogmas. Should science be a materialist belief-system, or an exploration? Sheldrake turns the dogmas of science into ques- tions, opening up startling new possibilities, some of which this workshop will explore. For example, the “laws of nature” may be habits that change and evolve. The Fundamental Constants may not be constant. Minds may extend far beyond brains. The total amount of matter and energy may be increasing. Memories may not be stored as traces in our brains. In this workshop, his first weekend event in the US after the September 2012 publication of his book, Science Set Free, Sheldrake will suggest that the sciences, and our own personal lives, would be better off without the dogmas of materialism: freer, more interesting, and more fun.
