“Unique and magical—a rare combination of mind-opening ideas, direct contact with activists and thought leaders (both presenters and fellow par- ticipants!), and on top of that, a whale of a good time. We ranged from tears to hilarity, from sober contemplation to excited dialogue to moments of sheer raucous fun. Wouldn’t miss it for anything—we came straight home and put it on our calendar for next year.” — A past participant

This year Esalen Institute celebrates fifty years as a leader and catalyst in the world of personal and social trans- formation. Concepts and experiences originating at Esalen have influenced a wide range of areas that are a vital part of the world stage today: psychology, sustainability, health and healing, lifelong personal growth, citizen diplo- macy, and our common search for meaning through religion, spirituality, and authentic personal commitments.

We are celebrating Esalen’s 50th Anniversary with a very special 4-day weekend benefit event that offers what former Labor Secretary Robert Reich has characterized as “a true growth experience…a true pleasure…a community of people that understands…that personal development and social development go hand in hand.”

Presenters include:

MARIANNE WILLIAMSON, spiritual activist, author, lecturer and founder of The Peace Alliance and Project Angel Food

ROBERT REICH, leading economist, author, professor at UC Berkeley, and former US Secretary of Labor BYRON KATIE, founder of The Work; author of four best-selling books including, Loving What Is

Additional activities in this extended four-day program include entertainment, music and movement, yoga and meditation classes, Big Sur nature hike, a silent and live auction featuring Ashley Smith Johnson, an opportunity to engage with other Friends of Esalen, to have fun, relax, enjoy the baths, meditate and just be…
