Weekend of August 10–12

Why We Choose What We Choose: Career, Love and Everything in Between Ayala Pines

Two of the most important choices we make in life are work and love. Both may seem at times random, but in fact reflect deep, largely uncon- scious processes. This is why we enter both our careers and our love relationships with such high expectations and why so often we are disappointed and burned out.

What influences those choices and what is the relationship between them? This unexplored territory is the focus of this workshop.

In the workshop, participants will hear about relevant theories and research and undertake a series of experiential exercises and group discus- sions that will enable them to explore their career and love choices and the relationship

between them, and understand why they are experiencing burnout rather than joy and satisfaction in their work, marriage, or both.

The goal is to gain deeper understanding of the underlying dynamic for our career and love choices and learn better skills for coping with both career and couple burnout.

This workshop is for individuals, couples, and career and couple therapists interested in under- standing the impact of career and love choices.
