We Have a Mothers’ Day Winner By Bobbi Jo Palmer

she wished we could do it all the time. But of course, that, would be crazy. Right?! Well, anyway, we have a winner and it’s such a sweet story from a daughter about her mom. We know there are so many amazing moms out there and it’s nice to know many of you honor them in your own way. I have to say, my mom is amazing as

well, and has taught me so much about being generous and honest. I could have easily written a letter for my mom because I think she so deserves it. My father has Alzheimer’s and my mom is his caregiver. She also has all the financial responsibili- ties, cooking and driving. She just doesn’t have the time or energy to clean the house as well. So, we just hired Merry Maids for my mom, and she’s so pleased. The first thing she said after they left was, “those girls are so sweet!” Congratulations Carla, I’m sure your

mom will be thrilled when she finds out what you have done for her. And thank you, Merry Maids.

April 5, 2012 Dear Merry Maids, Thank you for the opportunity to tell you a little bit about my

Mom and why I believe she deserves the free house cleaning for a month. Well, first of all, she is 81 years young and very vital. She divides her time creating her homemade dinners that she takes to her friends and family who she heard were too ill to cook for themselves, visiting her life long friend who has Alzheimer’s, keeping her garden and house in order. She is a very good friend to her favorite people of all ages from 3 to 94 and a spectacular Mom. When my family had some employment challenges, she took us in, all of us including our 2 Labradors with out a second thought and provided a warm and com- forting place to get on our feet again. Even after my Mom lost her soul mate twenty plus years ago, you will not see a frown on her face. As a matter of fact, what you will witness if you see her talking to a new or old friend that she meets on her daily 2 mile walk on Miller Ave., is what I call the Grammy Diane effect, which is that everyone who she chats with is noticeably uplifted and is wearing a smile while with her. That’s my mom, she figured out that her purpose in life is to uplift people on her path and share the love she has within. So I would like to nominate my mom Diane Sousa for her courage, love and uplifting life.

Sincerely, Carla Ford $400 off
