California Indian Market & Peace Pow Wow
May 5 & 6 • 10am to 7pm Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and World
Cultures in San Juan at this annual event benefiting Peace Vision, a 501(c)3, promot- ing Peace through the arts. This event fea- tures Native American artists, dancers, drummers and singers from North and South America and multi-cultural vendors. One Earth, One People, Peace Vision and the San Juan Intertribal Council is billed as a living prayer for world peace along with a show and sale of arts and crafts including; basketry, dance regalia, dolls, dream catch- ers, drums, jewelry, paintings, pottery, sculpture, weavings and more! The Pow Wow takes place on The Alameda and admission is a $1 donation.
Annual Anzar High School Booster Club Crab Feed May 12 ~ 5pm-7:30pm
Come show your support for education
while enjoying a delicious Crab Feed at Anzar High School Gym, located at 2000 San Juan Hwy. Dinner is just $40 per person, $15 for children 12 and under. Oriana Chorale Sings A Touch of the Classics May 18 ~ 7:30pm
The Oriana Chorale joins with a profes- sional string quartet, a trumpet an oboe and
guest vocalists in performing Vivaldi’s Gloria and other classical pieces at the old Mission San Juan Bautista. Tickets for this concert are $15 for adults, teens $10, and 12 and under are free. Tickets are available at Visions of Christmas in San Juan at 108 third Street. In Hollister, tickets are available at Mars Hill Coffee House and Postal Graphics. While you’re in San Juan, be sure you
stop in to see the big changes atMargot’s Ice Cream and see what’s going on with the new owner of the San Juan Bakery, both a short walk away, like most of San Juan, on Third Street.
