Following consolidation, what have been the biggest advantages for the company and its customers?


The Suzo-Happ Group took two component supplier leaders in two different continents to create a global corporation. The synergies that have arisen have been amazing. The management teams have spent and continue to spend much time together sharing their information and success criteria. This has been an excellent learning process and has resulted in us being able to offer a much wider field of solutions. Both Suzo and Happ had their own speciality products that became available to a global market overnight.


The casino industry is very much international. This fact alone places the Suzo-Happ Group in pole position. We can distribute on a global scale. Industry-leading component suppliers appreciate this and so we can leverage the products and solutions of our suppliers throughout the world.


The third point relates to economies of scale. Bringing two major companies into one group has meant that we have increased our potential market scope. This ensures that we remain very competitive.


Spare parts can be costly in the consumer world. How does this principal apply to Suzo-Happ or are your parts and components supplied at the same cost as the OEM price?


The consumer experience you refer to is more for one-off spares. We are a critical supplier to the industry and therefore have the economies of scale to provide the industry’s best products at a very competitive price. Let’s not forget that we operate in a very competitive market. Your analogy refers more to the end users – who require spares in the true word and not components to manufacture machines. Yes, spares pricing used to be rather high for operators. One of the major benefits for operators when dealing we us directly is that we can offer much more competitive prices. We understand our products and


can often offer various alternatives apart from the original components – which allows for further cost savings to the operators.


What are the defining qualities of the company that set it apart from other suppliers?


Our USP relates to our management philosophy. “To offer the best products and services at attractive prices – and to the complete market – from the largest manufacturers to the smallest operators”. A company statement of dealing globally but acting locally is easily made. But just look to our company structure – then you will see that this truly relates to how we work.


How many employees have you worldwide and what is the number of countries you supply into?


We employ over 500 people with the entire group. We deal in all corners of the world.


Performance counts in casinos and they all need a fast speed of repair. Can you talk about how your service meets this demand?


Your question refers to our casino division. In the past years this division has grown the most as we have learnt of the sheer importance of supporting operators directly. We have invested strongly to ensure that we have the structure in place to offer local support as much as we can.


We have already talked about the benefits and how innovations are adopted more quickly into the market. Casino operators are choosing our maintenance support – we have one casino operator, for example, with whom we offer 24/7 support for the key products we provide. This gives casinos the piece of mind they need to focus on their business – on providing the best possible entertainment to players. Such partnerships ensure maximum machine uptime and the demand for our services continues to rise above expectations.


What are Suzo Happ’s leading products and what are their stand-out qualities?


With 40,000 components and accessories in our range, where do we start? No seriously, of course we have leading products. We have our own R&D divisions and a large manufacturing company in China.


The product range that is developed and manufactured by the Suzo-Happ Group continues to grow. This includes toppers and hoppers (pay- out systems). For the companies we act as major / exclusive distributor for – the leading products come from ELO, FutureLogic, MEI, Assa and Talaris. These products stand out as they are the best-in-class. It is as simple as that.
