Riggs showcase at Foodex
Riggs Autopack Ltd will be exhibiting a selection of their Model 1000 depositors, filling machines, transfer pumps and conveyor filling lines at the Foodex Show. Visitors to the company’s stand will have the opportunity of viewing a high level multi-head automatic depositor with scroll feed slat conveyor for filling jars and bottles, a low level semi- automatic bag filling machine with a five litre fill capacity, and an Option 1 semi-automatic filling machine with food grade transfer pump designed for small to medium scale food producers. Riggs Autopack's Model 1000 depositors and filling machines are available as a semi- automatic stand-alone unit for small to medium scale food production, or as an automatic conveyor filling system for large batch runs. According to the company, they provide damage free and highly precise volumetric depositing of hot or cold liquid, semi-liquid and suspended solid products, as well as viscous and fragile goods.

Exhibiting hygienic plastic pallets
At Foodex this year, Craemer will be displaying a large range of quality plastic pallets and containers that meets the highest hygiene demands of the food, meat and processing industry, and can be easily integrated into existing logistics chains. Exhibits will include the ‘TC’ Totally Closed hygienic plastic pallet that offers strength and impact resistance, due primarily to its material content and unique patented welding process that totally seals the lower deck and rim areas to prevent ingress of contaminants. Also on display will be Craemer’s highly competitive, lightweight ‘D’ plastic pallets, weighing in at only 15kg. They are, according to the company, easy and safe to manually handle or integrate into storage systems requiring high loading capacities, in turn, enabling pallets to be transformed into a bespoke, highly rated load carrier with RFID tracking.

UPM’s Triple Decker
UPM Conveyors have established preferred supplier status to Finlay’s Fresh Produce, the first suppliers of Fairtrade vegetables into the UK. Roger Broughton, group engineering manager, said that the company selected UPM due to their ability to offer bespoke solutions to product handling in Kenya, where Finlay’s needed trouble free operation and zero maintenance. UPM were able to offer a solution to Finlay’s application based on a triple decker belt conveyor, which will be on show at Foodex this year. The conveyor allows four operators per side to transfer product from the lower conveyor to fill boxes on the middle conveyor. Empty boxes are then being transferred on the top roller conveyor at a rate of 2,000 kilos per hour. UPM say their philosophy is simple and based on working in partnership with people, sharing their knowledge and experience gained over 37 years.
