Cantabile Female Voice Choir: Musical director J enni f e r Mor ton and chairman Phyl Webb took time off from rehearsals for their June concert The Spirit of England to present the proceeds of a collection from their Christmas Concert to Louie Callina representing Stroke Support. Once again our thespians are putting on a good show, regardless of the gloom and doom surrounding us on a daily basis. Regardless of genre, all amdram groups, societies and company’s are on the look-out for new members to either join the acting ranks, backstage or front-of-house crew, or even just to give everyone a boost in a supportive role. It’s a great life and one way of making new friends – so come on – give it a whirl.

Calpe Gilbert and Sullivan Society: The next production Mikado is scheduled for Calpe de la Cultura on May 25/ 26th and Alfaz del Pi on June 5th. Why not pop along and have a drink whilst listening to them rehearse and make friends. They need more tenors and altos. Campoverde Theatre Group: The picture shows di rector Pat Thielmann discussing with Musical Director Huw Jones, the music for the forthcoming show, Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea. This

Careline Theatre: This month murder is afoot. The ghastly deed will be done on the dance floor at La Brioche restaurant, Toscamar, Javea on Tuesday March 20th. Get there for 7pm when the Strictly Come Dancing competitors are still alive. Spend sometime over dinner (20€) solving the crime and helping Careline Theatre raise money for Denia and District HELP. Cameo: The cabaret company will be performing their hit show of Love Rollercoaster at Inn on the Green, Javea on Saturday 21st April. There will be a red and white theme to celebrate St. George’s Day and proceeds of the evening will support APASA. Tickets at 16€ each will include a meal and the show. Costa Barber Singers: The Costa Barber singers are the oldest barbers shop chorus on the Costa Blanca and have been entertaining audiences along the coast since 1988, and all for charity. They are always keen to recruit new members

Footlights Theatre Group: Calpe based Footlights have now commenced preliminary rehearsals for their production of Guys and Dolls on the Costa Blanca in November 2012.
