Hello, and who are you?…

I guess we might be shocked or puzzled if someone said “I’m a very lonely person, trying to fi nd good relationships with someone I care a lot about”. Why is this?

Because in life many of us lose our identity and just concentrate on the role we play as husband, wife, daughter, son etc. This is fi ne, but it is not WHO we are, and ignoring our inner self is what causes some people a lot of problems and stress.

A while ago I was talking to an 11 year old who was very diffi cult and causing family problems. I asked her who she was, and she immediately gave me her name. I said “No, not what are you called, but who are you?”… she looked at me long and hard and then said “I am a pest, I drive everyone mad, I cause trouble in the family… etc.” You see, she knew who she was! She was fi nally able to see who she COULD be, if she wanted.

The past has happened to us all…. but the past is a tutor, not a companion. So many of us carry it round on a daily basis tormenting ourselves with thoughts that pull us down. No wonder things go wrong, no wonder you feel down and you’re not getting the best out of life.

“Yesterday is history, Tomorrow’s a mystery, Today is a GIFT, which is why it’s called The Present”…. Use this gift to shape your tomorrows, use it to bring happiness to yourself, and then watch the change you will experience from others.

Take control TODAY, be the best you can, why settle for less? Aim for the best qualities, and in a short while you will look at yourself differently. So will everyone else!

‘til the next time! Violet King,Personal Counsellor.
