THE PENSACOLA INTERSTATE FAIR CLOSES WITH A PERFECT RUN
The Pensacola Inter-
state Fair, October 20 thru 30, 2011 ended with an absolutely perfect year. Every aspect of this year’s fair was exceptional and fulf i l led our theme of “Family Time! Fun Time! Fair Time!.
First and foremost we had 11 days of perfect
weather. That always helps. Reithoffer Shows brought a spectacular midway topped with it’s newest ride “THE STINGER.” It created tremendous anticipation among the fairgoers and we had a special media promotion by enter- ing a contest they could be the first to ride this spectacular ride opening day at the Fair. This promotion was greatly received by the community and the media’s presence on opening day to capture the reaction of those who rode it was great. Our entertainment line-up was also outstanding. Those
appearing on our FREE open air theater were Randy Houser, M. C. Hammer, Craig Campbell, The Molly Ring- walds, Sunny Sweeney, Skillet, Easton Corbin and local entertainment. M. C. Hammer and Skillet drew overflowing, standing room only, crowds and were real people pleasers. Other daily free attractions were The Old Country Store,
AG-VENTURE Barn, Petting Zoo, The Great American Frontier Show and the Procrastinators. Of course, we had our usual array of exhibits to please
everyone’s area of interest. We are especially proud of our Livestock Sale and Auction that broke the record by bring- ing top dollar at $16.00/lb. This was the first year that we used the special advance
ticket sales promotion by using the Walgreens promotion provided by Greg and Patty Bean. Our special thanks to Greg and Patty for their outstanding personal involvement to make this program a great success. Now we look forward to October 18 thru 28, 2012 for the
80th year of the Pensacola Interstate Fair and we invite everyone to come see us. It would be our honor to wel- come you to our Fair.
The Northeast Florida Fair “Fresh, Fall, Fun” The Northeast Florida Fair was held in Callahan October
14-24, 2011. This year’s theme “Fresh, Fall, Fun” proved there was excitement from Fair officials, exhibitors, ven- dors, and Fairgoers. Hildebrand Rides offered a variety of rides and games for the entire family. Fair entertainment included Ruckus, The Wilson Family Band, magician Just Paul, and agriculture enthusiast for kids “Rowdy Rooster,” performances from the high school and middle school bands, and, a variety of local entertainers. Other competi- tions included arts, crafts, canned and baked goods, and
8
horticulture exhibits prepared by all ages. Nassau County school exhibit booths were decorated and highlighted the fair’s theme. As always, the fair is a time to showcase youth in the community and support 4-H and FFA projects. If you were not able to visit us this year, we extend an
invitation to next year’s fair, October 18-28, 2012. Our board, staff, volunteers, vendors, and exhibitors promise to make you feel right at home. For more information, please visit our website

HUGE Numbers for the 2011 Volusia County Fair
The Volusia County Fair &
Youth Show surged past previous year’s numbers with an estimated 182,000 attendees. This repre- sents the second highest turn out ever just 6,000 shy of 2007. Better yet, the 2011 Fair had its best Midway ever! Price
points remained the same as in 2010. More folks came out and spent more money. This may be an indication people are getting more used to the economy and that the local County Fair is the best value around. Plus, your County Fair is most likely the single most largest and popular event for your area! David Viers, CFE Executive Director said, We are very
pleased. We will work toward a bigger and even better Fair next year.” The Fair ran November 3rd –
13.th Proceeds from ride
bracelets were up 5.75% from the previous year and the gate was up 5.45%. Advance ticket sales through Wal- greens Corner Box Office and Special Event Engineering/ SEE (Greg and Patty Bean) were through the roof. This year’s Fair featured more than 40 rides from Deg-
geller Attractions and shows, like Dennis Lee, Disc- Connected K-9’s, Steve Bayner to name a few. Chubby Checker, Uncle Kracker and Craig Campbell were the con- cert line up and all 3 had great shows with full houses. The 2012 dates are November 1st thru 11th. You’re all
invited.
