It all began for Duncan about 20 years ago, when he and his wife
Mary made an epic voyage across the Atlantic. As part of the trip, Mary bought him a watercolour set which he used to create a diary. He also saw a side of the ocean that was new to him and it blew him away – almost literally. The next step was acrylics as their spreadable quality and quick drying properties allowed him to develop the dynamic and spontaneous style that has made him one of the UK’s most highly- regarded contemporary artists.
