His presence is in constant demand across the UK and the world, but it was not until he undertook his first tour of Japan that his international status finally hit home. This event was a revelation to Doug. Japanese life and culture were so different from the familiar world which he knows and paints, and yet the country was overflowing with people who had been touched by his art.
