been slightly tongue-in-cheek, but with another Herald Cup quarter-fi nal place, and a growing collection of Premier Division scalps to their name, it’s not
surprising that there’s a swagger about Watcombe Wanderers these days.

The girl’s side of the age group saw a competitive encounter between Teignmouth and South Dartmoor. After one win a piece in their head to head it was Teignmouth who eventually came out on top winning one extra game.

are in the promotion mix yet again. Speaking to the team in the dressing room, following a 7-1 mauling of Upton’s reserves, the players cited the Watcombe spirit and a die-hard attitude as their formula for success. Manager Frankie Finch put it
bluntly: “If they don’t want to play for Watcombe for ninety minutes, they don’t play for Watcombe.”
The fi nal place was taken by Churston. The boys under 14’s
competition was decided by the fi nest of margin in each of the playoff fi nals. All four fi nalists had to be separated by the golden goal rule with Paignton ‘A’ overcoming their fellow rivals Paignton ‘B’ and Torquay Community College snatching the deciding goal against Torquay Boys. Paignton ‘B’
won 5 of their 6 games scoring 22 goals, this impressive record was surpassed by Paignton ‘A’ having won every game with a +23 goal difference. The under 12’s boys competition
saw Torquay Community College ‘B’ overcome Paignton ‘A’ 1-0 in what was a very tight match. The other qualifying team was a formidable Torquay Boys ‘B’
