MOOR 2 SEA SPORTIVE
The Moor 2 Sea is an exciting new event in the South West Cycle Sportive Calendar.
OPENS FOR REGISTRATION
of two routes: The ‘Challenge’ route which is 67 miles (108 km) and has approximately 7,400 ft of climb, and the ‘Extreme’ route which is 112 miles (180 km) and has a massive 12,000 ft of climb including gradients up to 25%. Both routes include a ‘King of the Mountains’ Stage at

Mamhead followed by a two mile closed circuit fi nish around the tarmac track at Exeter Racecourse. The event is supporting two charities, Help for Heroes
and the DSRT (Ashburton). “As an ex-serviceman with a son going through his selection process for RMA Sandhurst, and as someone who has enjoyed the recreational benefi ts of Dartmoor National Park since the age of 11, I am delighted to be able to do something to help support these very worthy charities” said Stewart Bergman, Managing Director of Just Events Ltd. The Moor 2 Sea Sportive will take you through the
beautiful Haldon Forest and then up and across the breath taking open roads of Dartmoor National Park. Here you will pass the famous Warren House Inn; at 1425ft (434m). You will then descend from the moor to the Ancient Stannary Town of Ashburton. Here the routes split. The ‘Extreme’ route taking riders on a loop down to Ivybridge and then back up across Dartmoor with some tough climbs including Hexworthy Hill at 25%. There is then some great descending to rejoin the ‘Challenge Route’ and a second feed stop at Ashburton. From Ashburton both routes will take you through quiet Devon country lanes and out to the ‘English Riviera’. You will then follow the coastal roads through the towns of Shaldon, Teignmouth and Dawlish before ascending the ‘King of the Mountains’ timed stage at Mamhead. You will then have a gentle ride back through Haldon Forest and a nice fl at two mile fi nish around the closed circuit road at Exeter Racecourse.
