It’s not hard to see how he’s used his cockney charm over the years to prize these gems from sportsmen, collectors and celebrities! I asked Russell what were the favourite
items amongst his private collection. Without hesitation Russell walked over to a picture of the England 1966 team at Wembley, signed by the whole squad including Sir Alf Ramsey! Shortly after we see a print signed by the 1974 British Lions, undefeated against New Zealand and South Africa. Next we’re looking at a pair of Mohammed Ali’s signed boxing gloves. The list is endless... If all of this isn’t enough. Remarkably,
right next door to Legends is Russells bar and restaurant ‘Churchills’ which just happens to be fully loaded with memorabilia from the world of music, film and TV. It’s easy then... the lads go into Legends whilst the girls go next door to view signed photographs from the likes of Steve McQueen, Tom Jones. Signed albums from Duran Duran, Kylie Minogue etc, etc. And guess what else..? It’s FREE! So
if you have no plans one weekend get up to Churchills and Legends, enjoy a meal, a pint and a look at some of the most remarkable things you’ll ever see this side of a London museum or the famous Hard Rock Cafe chains.
‘I’ve not got the book finished yet... but the title is sorted...’
