The Lee County Board of County Commissioners, as part of its sus- tainability initiative, has installed three electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in downtown Fort Myers, in the public parking lots on Heitman and Hendry streets and the juror parking lot on Widman Way. Each EV parking space is outlined in green paint, posted with a special sign and monitored to ensure its availability for EV use.


All the charging stations are on the ChargePoint Network, which is a monitoring and fee collection service. Users must be Charge- Point subscribers and use their own ChargePoint-issued ChargePass card to operate the stations. Lee County has also designated an EV space equipped with an elec- trical outlet in the employee parking garage on Monroe Street, and can increase the number of these spaces if the need arises.
