Bala Vinyasa Yoga Expands to Coral Gables

B

ala Vinyasa (BV) Yoga, a 200- and 500-Hour Registered Yoga School and one of only 37 Bap- tiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Affiliate Studios

worldwide, is opening a new studio on Florida’s east coast. Located at 1430 South Dixie Highway, in Suite 116, the new facility lies in the heart of Coral Gables, across the street from the Univer- sity of Miami, and is scheduled to open in late February or early March. “The new 5,500-square-foot studio, with three studio rooms and the ca- pability of accommodating more than 200 mats, is nearly double the size of Bala Vinyasa’s flagship Naples facility and will offer workshops from the day the door opens,” says owner Kiersten Mooney. “Like our Naples studio, the Coral Gables facility will offer classes for all levels seven days a week, private sessions and workshops. It’s a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School and provides 200-hour and 500-hour teacher training certification programs.” The 200-Hour program will run from May through September, in Coral Gables, and from October through February, 2013, in Naples. Mooney, who taught seven work- shops at the September 2011 Yoga Journal Conference, held in Colorado, says the Coral Gables expansion will allow BV Yoga to attract some of yoga’s most renowned teachers. She also plans to partner with the Human Performance Lab at the University of Miami, her alma mater, on yoga-specific research.
