Weekly Kirtan Sessions at House of Gaia

E

xperience kirtan, the ancient In- dian practice of chanting, and related Dances of Universal Peace, from 7 to 9 p.m. each Thursday, at the House of Gaia, at Outside the Box Studio, in North Naples. Healer, musician and life coach Rick Franz will lead the weekly sessions that he says can affect the whole mind and body and align with one’s deepest spirit and heart. Franz, who recently moved to Naples after more than 20 years facilitating musi- cal events in the Denver area, points to kirtan’s additional benefits. “When you actually open your mouth and sing—not just listen or meditate—at these events, the abdominal organs, solar plexus, heart, lungs and throat get a workout and internal massage,” he explains. “That feeds oxygen and energy to your brain, stimulating the release of endorphins and getting you naturally high.”

Suggested donation: $10 to $15. Loca- tion: 1660 Trade Center Way. For more information, call Franz at 831-295-9052 or email HighlandHero@gmail.com. Also visit OutsideTheBox-Studio.com.
