September 2011 to meet with the women of Litsemba village. Sindy is quoted as say- ing,
regarding their experience with the
women there, “In my entire life, I have never come across such a powerful community of women, who believe in God, have FAITH, believe in each other and are united. Te love they have for each other shows us the importance of women unity and empower- ment. Te power of investing in a woman is beyond measure, as the results are out of the ordinary.” We met with three groups of women that Mustard Seed Africa works with during our short Swazi trip. Te most important factors to these women were:
♦ Education, ♦ Empowerment, ♦ Sustainability, and ♦ Access to Health.
Sindy continues: “Many of the women we spoke to advised us of the need for fund- ing to get their handicrafts, sowing, farming and building projects on the go again, after these were halted due to lack of funds. I was stunned by the amazing crafts they create but saddened by the lack of resources in Lit- semba. Our partner Mustard Seed Africa is standing firm with these women to help them have access to resources so they can continue on their projects that once created self sustainability to them. Te women told us of how they were once able to feed their families, buy clothes, shoes and blankets for their children, send their children to school and above all have the power of voice but that has since changed.”
