The Laing kiss goodnight
The Glasgow independent bot- tlers, Douglas Laing, won Best Scotch Grain Whisky of the year in the coveted Jim Murray Whisky Bible Awards 2012. The 47 year old Cambus bottling is part of a collection that was originally laid down for a deluxe 50 year old blend but such is the quality of the casks, the company decided to release a series of single cask bottlings instead. Douglas Laing plans to release consecutive sister casks to this winner aged up to 48 years.

Expressionist art
Glengoyne Distillery has just released the second bottle of its ‘Art of Glengoyne’ special edition range. This collectable whisky tin was designed by artist, Simon Lawrie, who was inspired by the distillery’s slow distilling process. The tin is bright and colourful, a bold step away from the ‘traditional’ packaging normally associated with Scotch malt whisky. This special edition tin can be purchased from all good UK spirit retailers, or from the newly refurbished shop at Glengoyne Distill- ery, priced at £31.49.
