British bath manufacturer Design & Form Ltd has announced that all products within its Cabuchon Bathforms range can now be fitted with an advanced temperature control system that promotes greater bather comfort whilst yielding significant savings in terms of both energy and water consumption. The system, known as ThermaSsure, is the work of another British manufacturer, Temperate Systems Ltd, and it has previously been incorporated into a number of Cabuchon Bathforms’ custom made baths. Now however, as a result of collaboration between the two companies, customers can specify the control system as an option on any standard model in the Cabuchon range. The ThermaSsure system re-circulates and reheats bath water in order to maintain it at a specific temperature, which can range between 34 and 43 degrees Celsius. This obviates the need to replace the water as it cools, so it can help realise substantial savings on water use. Tests have also found that the cost of reheating will typically be less than half that of using new hot water from a conventional gas boiler. Triple award-winning bath


The Pleasance Plus free-standing bath from British manufacturer Cabuchon Bathforms is the centrepiece of a luxury bathroom design project that has won three separate awards at one of America’s most prestigious interior design competitions. The U.S. National Kitchen & Bath Association announced the winners of its 2011 NKBA Design Competition during the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas. The awards recognise the best designs across nine different categories and, this year, there were more than 500 entrants. One of the shortlisted finalists was Holly Rickert of Ulrich, Inc. Her submission was a large bathroom produced for a private residence in New Jersey, which placed the Pleasance Plus – a modern take on the classic Georgian ‘slipper bath’ – at the heart of a scheme that makes striking use of wood, stone and other natural materials. Judges were greatly impressed by the design, which went on to scoop the titles of Best Bathroom, Best Large Bathroom and the HGTVPro People’s Pick - Bathroom. The ‘Best Of’ awards were judged by a panel of design professionals while the ‘People’s Pick’ went to the most popular design as judged by a national television audience.
