kitchens and bathrooms demista takes
on Russia The latest foray into Russia for R & D Marketing’s demista heated mirror pads is in the recently opened luxury Crowne Plaza hotel in central St Petersburg where all the bathrooms have heated mirror pads invisibly fixed to the back of the mirror to ensure they remain steam free. Specified for the hotel by the Russian company Renaissance Construction, the demista pads have already made an impression on leading Russian bathroom furniture manufacturer, Aquaton. So far R & D Marketing have supplied 30,000 heated pads for Aquaton’s fitted vanity units and the orders continue. R & D Marketing, based in Cobham, Surrey, currently export around 60 percent of their British-made products. As well as the demista heated mirror pads they also market bathroom cabinets with heated mirrors and Cosyfloor underfloor heating. Further information telephone 01932 866 600 or visit

Quintessentially
British taps British manufacturing heritage is the central theme of the new range of luxury kitchen taps by Abode, available from October 2011. Inspiration for the collection comes from the classic era of British design and manufacture – refined and different! The Astbury single lever tap reflects a golden era in brassware design, with its curvaceous shapes and fluid lines forged in the past, but with the technology utilised in its manufacture, very much of the 21st century. Other Astbury taps include the dual lever and dual lever bridge mixer taps. All are available in chrome and pewter finishes.
