Donʼt be a stranger - ʻpop inʼ U

nder new management since November 2010, The

Greedy Goose is rapidly regaining its reputation for quality food and a friendly service. It has an excellent chef in Tom Bryant who unusually - can still see his feet! This however is not a reflection on the quality of his food which is excellent; instead he is being kept far too busy cooking and doesn’t have much time to eat! The Greedy Goose likes

to source its produce locally whenever possible and clearly supports local traders, but also ensures that the produce is fresh. They have even sourced their excellent freshly roasted coffee from local supplier Rocket Coffee. Although the recession has brought serious challenges

to eating establishments this has not stopped customer numbers at The Greedy Goose from growing and many have become regular visitors. It has become clear however that they are becoming far more discerning and demand good value. There has been a noticeable increase in the number of young families visiting and even the coach tours are stopping for coffee and cake. General Manager Mat Bryant intends introducing regular musical afternoons/evenings and expects the first one to be on the Sunday before the August Bank Holiday. Currently a resident magician visits every two weeks to entertain diners. He always proves very popular - so visit The Greedy Goose website for details of his next visit - Mat advises that families visit especially to see him. There are plans being drawn up to create a large function hall that will be suitable for conferences and weddings. A soft play area with climbing frame for the older children is also included in these plans and they believe this will be particularly attractive for weddings, knowing that children need to be kept amused even during wedding celebrations. Cottages are aslo being built around the courtyard which

will incorporate a Greedy Goose Water Feature. Sculptor Joel is currently working on this project. Everyone at The Greedy Goose is very excited with these plans, but they will obviously take a while to implement.and are aiming for the spring/summer of 2012 as the target date for completion.
