Personal Trainer Certification Online Course (v4)


AFAA’s premiere e-AFAA course combines personal trainer certification standards with the convenience of independent self-study, and the security of third-party monitoring and authenticating systems. Composed of a series of 14 video lectures, the course meets the rigorous criteria established by the National Board of Fitness Examiners (NBFE), and includes an online multiple-choice exam, as well as an online practical exam, given by an AFAA presenter utilizing AFAA’s proprietary, secure Multitraining Live Web- conferencing system.


Certifications


AFAA’s certification workshops include: Personal Fitness Trainer, Primary Group Exercise, KickBoxing, Step, Military Fitness Specialist, Emergency Response, Fitness Practitioner, and Telefitness Internet Software. AFAA also provides continuing education workshops, educational materials, and specialty training, and is a member of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), and an affiliate of the National Board of Fitness Examiners (NBFE). The accrediting commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) has accredited AFAA as well.

For fitness professionals working one-on- one with clients, this three-day certification workshop includes lectures, practical demonstration, and written and practical exams. This certification is also offered through AFAA’s third-party authenticated Personal Trainer Certification Online Course. It covers exercise physiology, anatomy, kinesiology, and injury-prevention strategies, along with fitness-assessment testing procedures, nutrition fundamentals and weight management, special populations and medical considerations, communication skills, leadership and motivational coaching, exercise programming, and risk-factor assessment guidelines.

AFAA presents more than 2,500 certification and continuing education workshops each year for group fitness instructors and personal fitness trainers, in addition to its semiannual APEX educational events.
