he growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership. An organization cannot grow without, until its leaders grow within,” according to national leadership expert John C. Maxwell.
Being an ACTIVE member within the GHBA’s Associate Council can boost your career and enable you to become a more effective professional. I encourage each of you to get involved and become a contributing member of the association.
The first step in doing this, of course, is to join a committee. Choose a committee in your area of expertise—one in which you and your talents can shine. Be committed and volunteer for specific tasks. This is an effective way to ease into your committee involvement. Not only will you feel a sense of accomplishment, the committee will see that you are serious about your commitment. This is a great start to a rewarding challenge.
It might take a few meetings before you get your bearings. In the meantime, don't be afraid to speak up, offer your opinion or ask a question. People who are truly successful are more than willing to help others, and the people on your committee
