Novi Home Builders Now Developing in East Shore “Garden District”
Novi Home Builders Corp. has begun a homebuilding program in East Shore, the “Garden District” of The Woodlands Town Center, according to Buck Driggers, vice president of residential sales and development for The Woodlands Development Company.
East Shore borders the eastern edge of 200-acre Lake Woodlands and is within walking distance of the shopping, dining and entertainment venues along The Woodlands Waterway®, situated in the heart of The Woodlands Town Center.
Novi Home Builders Corp., a custom home builder that has been building in The Woodlands’ gated community of Carlton Woods since 2004, is offering four homesites in the enclave of Mid-Lake in East Shore. Priced from the low $800s, these two-story New Orleans style homes will feature brick and HardiPlank exteriors and approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of living space, second floor covered balcony, side covered veranda, rear covered porch, and a two-car, alley-served garage.
“We are excited to welcome Novi Home Builders to the list of renowned homebuilders in East Shore,” said Driggers. “Novi offers an exquisite custom home that creates a truly unique urban residence.”

Palmetto Homes Begines Home Building Program in East Shore
Palmetto Homes by Stephen Hann has purchased five home sites in East Shore, the “Garden District” of The Woodlands Town Center, for construction of five, two- story homes. Starting at just over 2,700 sq. ft., the homes will feature traditional architecture with a predominance of brick. The homes will incorporate two- story Charleston side porches overlooking a large courtyard. The floor plan will highlight a very open living area on the main level with a gourmet kitchen, and a large, integrated outdoor courtyard offering southern exposure. The master suite takes up half of the second floor with a veranda overlooking the main courtyard.
“We call the plan our ‘indoor/outdoor great rooms’ plan because it was thoughtfully designed to provide indoor and outdoor exposures on both levels. This design is sure to be very popular within the breathtaking setting of East Shore,” said Stephen Hann, a custom homebuilder who has been building in The Woodlands for 11 years. Homes are expected to be available by the end of this year. Prices start in the mid-$500s.

In the Houston area, the sale will have a positive impact on both current and future Taylor Morrison communities. In the last 18 months, the Houston division has announced three major projects including Avalon at Telfair, the Verandas at Mar Bella and Avalon at Cinco Ranch. According to Steve Von Hofe, president of the Houston division, plans for Avalon at Riverstone will be announced soon.
“Taylor Morrison has always been confident about the Houston market and our new owners clearly see many opportunities in the fourth largest city in the U.S.,” said Von Hofe. “We can work to continue delivering the types of homes that buyers have told us are important to them. We currently have a good supply of home sites throughout Houston, but with our new owners, we will have an influx of investment to add to our holdings through expansion, new communities and innovative product.”
The sale solidifies the company’s North American position as a leading homebuilder and offers new opportunities for expansion at a time when many builders are maintaining their positions, said Taylor Morrison CEO and president Sheryl Palmer. “Now it’s about being the best company we can be,” Palmer said. “We’ve shown that we can be a profitable, viable company during a difficult time. This sale is a vote of confidence for the way we do business and we look forward to capitalizing on it.”
