Mike Moody, president of Newmark Homes Houston thanked the donors and spoke about the 100 Club Survivor’s Fund. Appreciation awards were presented to the donating members by Austin Garrett, purchasing manager for Newmark. A client from Gracewood, an agency HomeAid has constructed transitional shelters for, shared her story of facing homelessness and the impact the Gracewood facility has made on her life. Mike Dishberger, president of the GHBA and Fred Caldwell, president of Caldwell Companies also addressed the guests thanking them for their contributions.

Vendors and trades attending the luncheon included: ABC Supply Co., Ironwood, Royal Baths, James Hardie, PJK Flooring, Gulf Coast Fans & Light Inc., IES Residential, DPIS Engineering, Builders Post-Tension Inc., Jacinto’s Cleaning, Southwest Sales, BMC Building Materials, 1st Infiniti, 84 Lumber, Whirlpool, Texas Pride Construction, Drymala Trees, L&S Plumbing and Gulf Coast Windstorm.


The home has been finished out with $97,000 worth of upgrades at no additional cost to the buyer. The Benefit Home’s full retail value is $492,059, but the homebuyer can purchase it for $395,000.


The second Benefit Home is being built by David Weekley Homes in the community of Bridgeland. DWH donated construction management and the Howard Hughes Corp., the developer of Bridgeland, donated the homesite.
