HOMEAID SUPPORTERS RECOGNIZED AT MID YEAR FORECAST LUNCHEON


More than two dozen HomeAid supporters were recognized at the annual GHBA Mid Year Forecast Luncheon on June 20. Bette Moser, executive director of HomeAid Houston, addressed the audience of over 500 guests, inviting those present who had donated to a HomeAid project, were ever a HomeAid volunteer or were on the board to stand and be applauded.


also viewed the new HomeAid video that included clips of PSAs featuring Houston Astros Jeff Bagwell, Brad Mills, Hunter Pence, Bobby Meacham, Humberto Quintero and Doug Brocail.


A special award presentation showed appreciation to the companies and individuals who make the HomeAid mission possible “…to build dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives.”

Rob Hellyer, GHBA Remodelers Council for Project Independence, a remodeling project that provided 29 beds for homeless female veterans.


Marc Jungers and Ron Martin, Grand View Builders, for the construction of a storage facility for Montgomery County Youth Services, an agency that provides for homeless children, ages 11 to 17.


Steve Hefner, Bobby Rivers and Elizabeth Bryson of Camden Builders, for the construction of Restoration Hill, a 30,000 square foot building for the homeless women and children of Volunteers of America.


Mark Atkins, Masa Studio, for the architecturals for Volunteers of America’s Restoration Hill


Will Holder, Trendmaker Homes, for Project Playhouse. “The Astros Express” is on display at Minute Maid Park through August 21.


Dennis Haws, All Star Construction, and Peggy Fuller, By Design Interiors, for project “Welcome Home,” the remodeling of the lobby at Santa Maria Hostel’s Jacquelyn House.


Bill Shaw and Mike Heller, William Shaw and Associates, for the renovation of 16 showers at the Houston Area Women’s Center, providing beautiful surroundings for women and children seeking shelter from domestic violence.


Together, these builder and remodeler


captains and all the vendors and suppliers they represent, are building and remodeling more than 40,000 square feet of real estate for Houston’s homeless community, creating 195 beds women and children.
