VAAN Inspired by his mother’s personal dream of being a fashion designer, Shake, as a little boy knew that in his heart he

shared the same dream. Shake is a 20 year old Business Management major at Bentley University, Ma. He moved frequently as a child and found himself always being the “new kid”. Despite all the changes in his young life, his passion for fashion remained constant. He decided to embrace his passion. Shake , had a conversation with his mom and the two of them began working on his dream. I asked him how it felt having his mother as a business partner he responded; “I’t is great working with her, her ambition is what keeps me going”. Shake developed the name Vaan Flyder (van-fly-der) which was inspired by the song nike boots” by Wale. With a team of artist that helped design his line, Shake, started with t-shirts, hats and button up shirts for men. He began selling his line out of his dorm and got a lot of positive feedback from his classmates. “Everyone loved the line”. Vaan Flyder Inc style pro- motes individualism and embraces the idea of standing out rather than simply fitting in. I asked Shake what people can expect in the future from Vann Flyder? “the company is working on more designs and a women’s collection will be added”. Soon a website will be up where you can not only purchase and view the merchandise but fashion and music will be successfully con- nected. Shake’s vision is clear and he wanted to pass the message to readers who may have similar goals “Do what you love”.
