Do you have a personal motto or quote for our readers?

I have two quotes from Nelson Mandela that I wake up to everyday on my desk. One is “Over- coming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. YOU can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.” This is a call to action to young people like myself to act and be compassion- ate towards their peers. I wake up everyday wanting nothing more than to be part of that great generation.

The other quote is “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or

his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

I live my life as an eternal optimist and believe that within each of us is a wealth of human

potential, we just need to be given the tools to find it. I believe that in order to live, you must learn to love your fellow man. My family comes from Croatia, part of the former Yugoslavia which fought a bloody ethnic war in the 1990s, which has only hardened my belief that we must accept one an- other regardless of race, ethnicity or religion.

What other organizations have you been involved with other than America Scores?

Prior to my involvement at America Scores New York, I did co-ops at the United Nations, the Deshpande Foundation (twice) and CSN Stores. I also currently work part-time as the Marketing Director with a startup soccer brand, called Storelli. I have also worked with Soccer4Hope in Cape Town and Soccer1 in Boston, as well being a field reporter for the Northeastern Center for Sport in Society during the Football For Hope Festival in July 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Like I told you before this magazine is launched at several Universities and Colleges in the MA, and later on going beyond MA as well. Thank you so much for your time.
