Oundle school Birmingham bound
It is now an established school tradition, following their 450th concert, fi ve years ago, for Oundle School’s music department to take to the stage at the Birmingham Symphony Hall and host a concert for the entire school. This spring, 19 coaches transported pupils and staff to Birmingham to join governors, parents, Old Oundelians and former teachers. An audience of 1,800 were treated to a programme of predominantly British music. Accomplished countertenor Derek Lee Ragin performed arias with the school’s chamber orchestra. Lower Sixth Form pupil Bertram Yap, conducted the Oundle Camerata alongside famous harpsichordist Maggie Cole. World- class guitarist Professor Craig Ogden also performed. In the intervals the audience was entertained by younger members of the Ospans steel band.
