Crumbs Judith Layzell started making cakes as a hobby back in school, and as her children grew up and flew the nest she then had more time to turn her hobby into a business. Crumbs has now been established for 6 years and is going from strength to strength. Judith undertook her first wedding fayre six years


ago at the Stirk House and was supported then by her best friend Sylvia who now still supports her to this day. Judith describes Sylvia as a “star” with a real talent to sell. Designing cakes for all occasions such as Weddings, Birthdays, Christenings & Anniversaries her designs range from scull and cross bones for a little boys birthday cake to a 3 tiered Beatles themed cake. All cakes are have an amazing detail from wonderful fairytales to elegant simplicity. The art of Judith’s cakes start from the sponge with a massive choice of Madeira, Jam and Butter cream, lemon and butter, chocolate ganache and she has even tried the latest craze from America the red velvet cake. Judith’s passion is helped by having such an understanding husband Graham who is now used to being patient with sticky worktops in the kitchen! She is often in the kitchen from the minute she wakes up until 9.30 at night and is fortunate enough to not class it as work and is very humble with her amazing skills. Judith is so busy she has now already been taking bookings for 2013! She is self taught and is currently part of the sugar craft club in Blackburn where new members are welcome with even the most basic skills.
