Padiham Football Club Padiham Football Club have set themselves a task of raising three thousand five hundred pounds before the end of this football season in order to enable the club to carry out the required maintenance work on their Abories Memorial Sports Ground pitch so that it will be ready to play on again next season. The work will be carried out during the last two months of May and the club have asked supporters to help raise the finance needed. Already one fan of the storks, Adrian Clark has agreed to under take "The Barley to Blackpool Challenge" which involves Adrian walking from Barley up the "Big End" of Pendle Hill, then walking across Pendle to the Wellsprings on the Nick of Pendle before cycling to Padiham Leisure Centre, swimming a mile in Padiham Pool and then cycling to Blackpool Tower. Adrian needs as many sponsors as possible to make all his hard work worth while and has offered a prize of fifty pounds to the sponsor who guesses nearest to his actual completion time. The Challenge will take place on Friday 20th May, starting at 6.00 a.m. from Barley village car park and any offers of sponsorship can be pledged by contacting Padiham Football Club secretary Alan Smith on 07775717698.

Padiham Football Club face an hectic finish to this season with no fewer than eight games scheduled to take place in April. Padiham FC’s home fixtures in April are: Congleton Town on Saturday 2nd April, Bootle FC on Saturday 9th April, Formby on Wednesday night 20th April, Silsden on Saturday 23rd April and Runcorn Linnets on Saturday 30th April.
