Jason and Carolyn Smith have been supporting and caring for disabled people for over 20 years and have recently opened their own Education and Activity Centre at Saunders Bank, near the town hall in Burnley. Charter House was opened in February by The Claret’s former striker and now Chief Executive, Paul Fletcher, and will provide a much needed facility for the area. The centre has a large activity hall, a kitchen, and a fabulous, stimulating, sensory room providing an exciting and memorable experience. Mr Smith said the nearest sensory room was in Preston, and he is so disappointed with the lack of local facilities that he and his wife Carolyn have quit their jobs to open their own centre.

Charter House Multi Sensory Room has been equipped to suit the needs of both young people and adults who have physical disabilities, learning disabilities or sensory impairments.

The centre will be providing Sessional activities such as Arts & Crafts, Pottery, Cookery, Indoor Gardening and Music and Exercise. The facility also lends itself to children’s parties and the couple welcome any enquiries on: 01282 429094 or Email: charterhouseburnley@yahoo.co.uk
