nior” Callahan, 82, of 511 Re- ems Creek Road, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011. Junior was born June 24, 1928,
Glamer Carlton Worley Weaverville - Glamer Carl-
ton Worley, age 83, of Weaver- ville passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at the Brian Center in Weaverville. Mr. Worley was a native of
Madison County, born June 5, 1927, and had lived in Buncombe County since the early 1980s. He was a son of the late Burnett Carlton and Hannah Bell Capps Worley. He was also preceded in death by a son, Hubert Worley; two brothers, Layfayette and Lamer Worley; two sisters, Gele- ma Worley and Sylvia Freeman; and two infant siblings. He was a retired farmer and a member of Light of Life Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Surviving are his wife of 66
years, Glenna Davis Worley; three sons, Everette Worley and wife Janet, B.W. Worley and wife Sarah, all of Weaverville, and Dean Worley and wife Nancy of Marshall; two brothers, McKin- ley and Cleates Worley; two sis- ters, Novena Buckner and Ro- setta Worley; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Marie Worley; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Worley’s funeral service
was held at 2:30 pm on Thurs- day, Feb. 17, 2011, in Light of Life Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Crowder and the Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Burial was in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family received friends
from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednes- day, Feb. 16, 2011, at West Fu- neral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body
in Buncombe County where he had lived most of his life. He was a well known character in Weav- erville. As a boy he sold produce at the market on Lexington Av- enue and in later years he grew and sold vegetables and beauti- ful dahlias, as well as antiques, from his home on Reems Creek Road. He was the son of the late Spurgeon C. Callahan and Bessie Johnson Callahan. His daughter, Betty Jo Cash; sister, Martha Honeycutt and brother, Clyde Callahan also preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, J.R.
Callahan of Asheville; sisters, Mary Johnson and Betty Jones, both of Weaverville; one grand- child and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service was held at
11 am on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family received friends
from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at the funeral home. Due to Junior’s love of f lowers

Patricia A. Brooks Leicester - Patricia A. Brooks,
65, of Leicester, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011. She was a daughter of the late Roger and Rita LeClair Beausoleil. She was the loving wife of the late Venoy Brooks who passed away in 2004. She was a member of the VFW
Post 891 Ladies Auxillary. She was a classy, well-dressed lady who was very giving and was
loved by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her step-
son, Richard Brooks (Sabine) of New Hampshire; a stepdaugh- ter, Marcia Campagone of New Hampshire; a sister, Gloria Roy (Richard) of New Hampshire; and her beloved dog “Pokey.” Her funeral service was held
at 11 am on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn with the Rev. Rob- ert James officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Moore Funeral Home at For-

“Chuck” Jenkins, Jr., 59, of 43 Maney Branch Road, died Tues- day, Feb. 15, 2011. Mr. Jenkins was born Aug. 2,
1951, in Buncombe County. As a carpenter by trade, he built homes for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his par- ents, Charles E. Jenkins, Sr. and Eula Conner Jenkins. Surviving are his sister, Caro-
lyn J. McCullough and husband Greg; nephews Nicholas Mc- Cullough and Tommy Parsons and wife Stephanie of Kerners- ville; niece, Audrey Parsons Di- Filitpo and husband David of Asheville; cousins, Dasha Brown and husband Jerry of Greens- boro, Natalie Mizell of Winston- Salem, Allan White of Asheville; and several other relatives. His memorial service was held

Elliott, 57, of 11 Ox Creek Road, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011. Mrs. Elliott was born April
23, 1953, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a member of South Fork United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and steward. She was a daugh- ter of the late Frank and Lucille Burnette McKin. Surviving are her husband of

Nancy Mullinax Roberts Leicester - Nancy Roberts, 70,
of Leicester, died on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. Nancy was born May 29, 1940,
in Kings Mountain. She retired from Bellsouth with over 30 years of service and was working part-time for the Asheville Police Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kie Roberts in August of 2006. She leaves behind many friends
and a special friend, Kish Ham- bright. Funeral service was held at 2
