Schools All County Band Clinic will be held for middle and high school students Monday (Feb. 28) and Tuesday (March 1) at North Buncombe High School. Approxi- mately 200 students in grades 7-12 will participate. Guest conductors for the event


are: Dr. John Ross, director of bands at Appalachian State University, who will conduct the high school band; and Robert Hinson, director of bands at Salem Middle School in Apex, who will conduct the middle school band. Musical selections for the clinic include works by Ticheli, Hazo, Sweeney and Williams. Te middle and high school


bands will perform in concert at 7 pm on Tuesday at NBHS. Te public is invited. A donation of $2 for adults and $1 for students and senior adults is requested to help defray costs of the clinic.


Zip-line tour adds night adventures

in Barnardsville has announced nighttime tours for the 2011 season. Tours start in April, and guests will travel by lamplight throughout the 242-acre tract. Nighttime tours are $109 and will be held Tursday, Friday and Saturday.
