First for Italy Archimede Ricerche Srl, part of the A&A Fratelli Parodi group (Genoa), has opened the first industrial plant for microalgae biomass in Italy. The company produces high quality biomass of different species such as Nannochloropsis, Isochrysis, Tetraselmis and Chaetoceros to be used in the nutraceutical and natural cosmetics fields. Thanks to the process competences and the scientific expertise, Archimede Ricerche has developed not only an industrial photo-bioreactors system but also an integrated and sustainable process. The required energy comes from direct sunlight, thanks to the algae photosynthetic function and the heat of an endotermic co-generative station powered by vegetable oil.
