Target dermal stem cells Mibelle Biochemistry is presenting PhytoCellTec™ Argan, the
first cosmetic ingredient that targets dermal stem cells. Composed of fibroblast cells embedded in a collagen-elastin matrix, the dermis confers firmness to the skin. Exhaustion of dermal fibroblasts is the very early onset of wrinkle formation and loss of firmness. Dermal stem cells are essential for a lifelong regeneration and repair of this delicate matrix. Based on recent research,
demonstrating the dermal papilla as the niche for dermal stem cells, Mibelle Biochemistry developed a cell culture assay to validate the beneficial effects on DERMAL stem cells. PhytoCellTec™
Argan was found to
clearly protect and vitalise DERMAL stem cells for fundamental anti- ageing effectiveness.

Are your products harming the rainforest? Unipex solution to hair loss
Unipex has introduced Capixyl™ , an innovative and
unique active complex designed to prevent and stop the hair loss process and stimulate hair growth. Capixyl™
is a biomimetic peptide combined with a
red clover extract rich in Biochanin A. Its synergistic action on three main hair loss mechanisms of action target 5-alpha-reductase, which modulates DHT to prevent hair miniaturisation, improves ECM proteins integrity for optimal hair anchoring and reduces inflammation which is a contributing factor of hair loss. Capixyl™
stimulates hair growth with higher
activity than the reference hair growth agent, Minoxidil®
. Capixyl™ address hair loss.
GreenPalm is calling on cosmetics manufacturers to join the drive for sustainable palm kernel oil by supporting responsible producers. The production of palm kernel oil – an ingredient in about 70% of cosmetics and toiletries – has been linked with deforestation, pollution, displacement of local communities and threats to endangered species such as the orangutan in South-East Asia. Bob Norman of GreenPalm says urgent action is needed to support producers working within the principles and criteria of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). “GreenPalm is the simplest and most effective way to support sustainable production of palm kernel oil,” says Norman. “Certificates are traded to offset a manufacturer’s use and the price goes directly to the producer,
creating a strong incentive for the industry to change for the better. The programme is endorsed by the RSPO and used successfully by some of the world’s leading brands.”
