Sport England’s Community Investment Fund has

An existing sports hall will be refurbished, and a new biomechanics laboratory added alongside the human performance laboratory and extensive sports medicine facilities. Andrew Reid-Smith, director of sport, says: “We are

delighted with the new facilities that, when added to what’s already in place, will provide a world-class sports village. “This set-up will offer an outstanding sport experience

for students, the local community and elite performers. These excellent facilities have been chosen by South Africa for their 2012 pre-Games training camps and we’re looking forward to contributing to their aim of 12 medals in 2012.”
