Celebrating 30 years of giving is a great way to end my term as your 2010 GHBA president. One of the most gratifying duties I have undertaken as president this year has been my participation in this amazing fundraiser. I have witnessed the generous response of our members throughout the year. Many of our donors are not first time donors, but have contributed year after year, even in the toughest of times. The donor response, plus the spirit of team work has made this an exciting experience for us all. Everyone involved made their individual contributions in the best way they knew how. And we all found that we had something to give, be it time, expertise or materials.

There is another celebration on the horizon, one that may surprise many of you. Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the GHBA. This organization was formed before most of us were even born! I know next year’s president, Mike Dishberger, will lead our membership through these tough times and with the support of our members continue our mission. Join us February 4 as we welcome Mike and his new board of directors at Extravaganza. Stay tuned for more information in next month’s issue.
In closing, I would like to thank the 2010 GHBA board members, and the entire membership for their perseverance this year. Lastly, as I welcome Mike, I want to thank Beth Avalos, KC Cox, Lisa Clark, Mike Dishberger, Kathleen Stadler, John Madson and Toy Wood, who have stood in the gap with me this year.
