NAHB Needs Associates and Builders with AD&C Issues

NAHB's media relations team is looking for builders who are experiencing AD&C loan issues with their lenders who would be willing to be interviewed by the media and provide quotes about their situation for NAHB press releases.

Media outreach is a key part of NAHB's ongoing efforts to show that the AD&C lending situation continues to critically obstruct the recovery of the housing industry and the overall economy. To find out more about this issue, read:

• "The Extent of Underbuilding in the Single-Family Housing Market" (http://bit.ly/dxMliO), a study by NAHB's Housing Economics group showing evidence that the single-family housing market in the U.S. currently finds itself in a significantly underbuilt state.

• The new Eye on Housing blog post (http://bit.ly/9ZRIdd) discussing the "The Federal Reserve's October 2010 Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey on Bank Lending Practices" and the continued tightening of lending standards.

“If it affects a builder, it will affect an associate”

NAHB is requesting information from any associates who are experiencing loss of builder business due to the AD&C lending crisis or appraisals. Please contact NAHB with any stories you may have that show the effects on your business. We need to demonstrate to those in power in Washington, D.C. that it's not just the builders who are affected, it's the ENTIRE building industry.

With the strength of two-thirds of our federation’s members fully behind our builder members we can move towards a better tomorrow.

To share your experiences, please contact Paul Lopez at plopez@ nahb.org or (800) 368-5242, ext. 8409; or Liz Thompson at ethompson@nahb.org, ext. 8495.
