MONTGOMERY CO. DIVISION NEWS

“time flies when you’re having fun.” Being this year’s president of the Montgomery County Builders and Developers Division of the GHBA has been challenging for me in some respects, but the overall experience has been very rewarding. Working with some of the brightest, most passionate people in the real estate industry is really motivating! And in the midst of the worst economy in recent history, I stand amazed at the steadfast effort of the builders, developers and associate members who have helped educate, encourage and protect our industry from the ever encroaching shadow of government that seems bent on blotting out the rays of recovery that are finally peaking over the horizon. GHBA is truly a great organization.

Many Thanks I

I want to thank all the GHBA staff who have made my responsibilities as president a true joy to perform. Karen Krenek has done a fabulous job of keeping me out of trouble and making sure I didn’t make a total fool of myself at our luncheons. I also want to thank Bette Moser for all she and her staff at HomeAid Houston do for our community. Working with her this year has been a huge blessing for me personally, as well as for our division. And to all the other folks at GHBA who work behind the scenes to keep the train on the tracks, thanks for all you do.

I also want to say that I couldn’t possibly have done my job as president of the Montgomery County division without the help and support of my board. I want to thank Susan Severa with Woodforest Development for being an

can say with all honesty that this year has flown by. I guess the old adage is true:

excellent vice president and providing us with some key contacts that made for very successful luncheons this year, as well as future events like next year’s golf tournament that will be held at the Woodforest Golf Club. Susan has been instrumental in setting up what I’m certain will be a fantastic event for us next year. And with Susan leading the charge for us in 2011, we’re poised for a very successful year indeed. Thanks to Tim Hardin with Langford Engineering, Kevin Tokarski with Pate Engineering, Michael McNall with Builders Post-Tension, Jerry Hayley with White Oak Development and Rose Casanova-Johnston with First American Title for the time and commitment you’ve given to making our division a success. We simply couldn’t have done it without you.

Looking forward, I am excited to remain on the board for 2011 because we have a great lineup of speakers and panels in the works that are sure to bring a crowd to our luncheons. I’m also very pleased to announce that we’ve added our first homebuilder to the board for next year. Todd Dunn with Dunn and Stone Builders has joined us and will bring some much needed homebuilder expertise and perspective to our division. We are also bringing on D’Ann Brown with StrucSure Home Warranty and Keith Rodgers with HomeTeam Pest Defense to round out our board. Both will certainly add the charisma needed to make next year even better.

So to all of those mentioned and to the many who were not, thanks for making 2010 a great year! I’ve had a blast and I’m looking forward to another great year with GHBA.
